DIY Interactive Road Map

Materials & Supplies

No road trip is complete without the perfect playlist! Here is a short video to whistle along to.
Song: On the Road Again
Artist: Willie Nelson

Step 1: Put Yourself on the Map

First, print out a road map template and color it. Don’t forget to give your little car a paint job, too—it's your trusty companion on this crafty adventure!

Step 2: On the Road Again

Roll your road map into a cylinder, making sure the roads line up like a well-planned route. Secure it with tape; I like to sneak a piece onto the back first (pro tip: watch the full tutorial video for this nifty hack).

Step 3: Get in Gear

Cut a strip of transparent paper about 2 inches wide, and long enough to wrap around your map. I used some clear plastic packaging from my last amazon purchase.

Tape it into a ring, and attach your car to this ring. Then, let your car zoom around the map by sliding the ring along the paper cylinder.

Beep! Beep! We’re ready to roll. Enjoy your craft road trip and don’t forget to make a few pit stops for creativity!
