Back to School Tote Bag

Unleash your creativity with this delightful crafting video, where I guide you step-by-step to create charming painted apple tote bags using apples and potatoes! This fun and easy project is perfect for crafters of all ages and skill levels. Whether you're looking to make a personalized gift or simply want to add a touch of homemade flair to your daily errands, this craft is sure to brighten your day.

What You'll Need

  • Tote bags: Choose plain, light-colored fabric tote bags for the best results.

  • Apples and potatoes: These will be your stamps, so pick varieties with smooth surfaces.

  • Fabric paint: Select your favorite colors to make your apple designs pop.

  • Paintbrushes: For detailing and touch-ups.

  • Paper towels: To catch any spills or clean your stamps between colors.

  • Cutting board and knife: To cut your apples and potatoes into stamp shapes.

Step 1 The Apple

Important! Place a piece of cardboard inside the tote bag to keep any paint from seeping though.

Cut an apple in half. Dab in craft paint, making sure to cover entire half of apple. Then gently place onto canvas tote bag, pressing down firm. For best outcome, test apple stamp on extra fabric first.

Step 2 The leaf

Cut a piece of potato in half. With a marker, draw a leaf shape. Then cut away the sides of the potato, leaving your leaf shape intact.

Dip your new leaf stamp into paint, and place on top of your apple print.

Step 3 Totes Complete

Once your tote is dry, you are ready to go apple picking.
