Today, we're diving into a fun and fishy craft project. This blog post accompanies my latest video tutorial, where I guide you through creating a delightful "Catch of the Day" decoration. Catch of the Day: A DIY Guide
To get started, gather the following materials:
Scissors
Foam paper (optional)
Glue
Twine or string
Printable fish template (available in both large and smaller sizes)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Download and Print the Template: Begin by printing your fish template. I ended up printing 3 copies of page 2 and 3, which gave me 12 fish to work with.
Cut Out the Fish: Carefully cut out each fish, noting that they are mirrored pairs, which will help create double-sided designs.
Add Thickness with Foam Paper: To give your fish some structure, glue one side of each fish to foam paper. Once the glue is dry, cut out the foam-backed shapes.
Assemble the Fish: Attach a piece of twine to the back of each foam fish, then glue the matching mirrored fish on top, aligning the edges. Repeat this process for all your fish, ensuring they are securely glued together.
Create the Garland: Gather the ends of the twines, varying the lengths so the fish hang at different heights. This will give your decoration a more natural, dynamic look. Tie a knot near the top to secure them in place.
And there you have it—your very own "Catch of the Day"! Whether it’s adorning a mantelpiece, a child's bedroom, or a backyard party, this charming decoration is sure to make waves.
