Crafting a Whimsical Halloween: A Pretty in Pink Paper Village and Other Cute Things

Welcome back, fellow crafters! Today, we're diving into the enchanting world of Halloween decorations, inspired by last year's delightful pink and orange color scheme. This blog post accompanies my latest video, where we explore the creation of a whimsical paper Halloween village, meet some friendly ghosts, and party with the best skeletons. Let's transform your Halloween into a magical celebration!

A Charming Trick-or-Treat Paper Village

Central to our Halloween table is the charming trick-or-treat paper village, which stretches along the length of the table. Each house is festively decorated, and floating above are friendly pink and orange ghosts. To achieve this ethereal effect, I glued paper ghosts to pieces of wire and anchored them in small cardboard box tops. The village comes alive with sunlight filtering through tissue paper-backed windows and a few strings of lights inside the houses.

Delightful Place Settings

Continuing the orange and pink theme, our place settings feature pink paper plates atop orange pumpkin placemats. Adding a whimsical touch are little paper ghosts serving as napkin rings. No table is complete without perfect place cards, and ours are adorned with party ghosts and skeletons, complete with polka dots on the backside.

A Magical Halloween Backdrop

For the backdrop, I created a larger version of the paper village. After some experimentation, arranging the lights in a roller coaster pattern on the wall provided the perfect glow. Hanging above is a delightful pink and orange Halloween bunting, featuring party skeletons, ghosts, polka dots, and cute pumpkins with pink bows.

Bringing it All Together

This look was crafted the day before Halloween last year, and I loved it so much that I used the same ideas for my favorite Thanksgiving tablescape.
