Make Your Own X-Ray Centerpiece
Greetings, craft-maniacs! I’m thrilled to share one of my favorite creations: an X-Ray Machine centerpiece inspired by the 2019 Halloween Ball III: The Mad Scientist. This eerie masterpiece was the "shock" of the party, and now you can zap some Frankenstein-inspired flair into your own home.
In the crafting video, I dissected the steps to create this electrifying centerpiece. The X-Ray Machine was basically a Mountain Dew bottle in disguise, lit up with a battery light, and framed to look like ancient lab equipment. This project is perfect for Halloween or any mad scientist-themed gathering where you want to "spark" some interest.
Materials Needed:
- Glass water bottle filled with Mountain Dew
- PVC plumbing fittings
- Battery-operated LED light
- Picture frames (spray painted to look like old metal)
- Animal x-rays
- Old wooden box
- Spray paint (metallic colors)
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Instructions:
- Prepare the Instruments: Start by spray painting the picture frame and the pvc fittings with metallic colors to give them an antique, weathered look. Let them dry completely.
- Create the X-Ray Display: Insert the animal x-rays into the frames. Secure them with tape or glue if needed.
- Mount Everything: Using a hot glue gun, attach the base pvc fitting onto the wood box, adding the picture frame next to it.
- Light Up the Bottle: Fill the glass water bottle with Mountain Dew. Place the battery-operated LED light inside the pvc base and attach the bottle to the pvc pieces. Another method to create an eerie glow is to place glow sticks inside the bottle.
Reliving these creative experiments has been a blast, and I hope you get as much of a jolt from these projects as I did. Share your own monstrous creations inspired by Katie's Crafting Closet, and let’s keep the mad science of crafting ALIVE!
