    Step-by-Step Instructions

    Step 1 The String Section

Start with the bottom of the body (large tube with 4 holes on bottom, two holes on top). Cut a 10-inch piece of twine and thread it through the front two holes on the bottom of the body.

String 8 to 10 beads onto each side of the twine to create the front legs.

Step 2 One Foot in Front of the Other

Each foot has two parts: a top (with hole) and bottom (no hole). String a top foot piece onto the twine, just like the beads.

Then secure twine underneath with glue or tape, trim any excess, and attach the bottom foot piece to the top.
To create the back legs, repeat steps 1 through 3 using the back holes on the bottom of body.

    Step 3 Thread it Together

On the top of the body, thread remaining twine through the top front and back holes.

On one side, add a cardboard washer, then the cut straw, and another washer to make the horse’s neck.
Thread twine through the top and bottom of the head (smaller tube).

    Step 4 Pony the Tail

Cut your yarn into two bunches. Tie a small piece around the top of each to make a pony tail. One will be the mane, and the other the tail.
Attach the mane to the top of the head with glue or tape, avoid covering the hole.
Attach the tail inside the back of the body, again do not cover the hole.

Step 5 Keep Your Eyes Open

Add the goodly eyes to both sides of the face.

    Step 6 Criss Cross

Cross two popsicle sticks and glue or tape them together. Tie the twine ends from the head and butt to each end of one of the popsicle sticks. If needed, wind the twine around the popsicle stick to make the string shorter.

Done. Now go make your horse dance!
