DIY Paper Stars

Materials Needed

  • Colorful Paper
  • Scissors
  • Hole Punch
  • Glue, Tape, or Stapler

Here's a 30-second visual guide, accompanied by inspirational music to entice your crafting spirit.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Cut It Out

Begin by cutting out 6 square pieces of paper. I cut 4 inch squares. The size of the square will determine the size of your completed star.

Step 2: Fold, not Fluff

Take one of the squares and fold in half from corner to corner, creating a triangle.

Fold that triangle in half, from top corner to center of base. See crease in photo for example.

Step 3: Slice, not Dice

Cut two straight lines on one side of the triangle. Make sure it is the double folded side (the one with no openings).

Unfold and you should have this really cool pattern.

Step 4: Create the Swirl

Roll the inner triangle flaps towards the center and tape or glue together.
Flip the paper over and repeat with the next set. Roll the points into the center (on the back) and glue or tape together.
Flip the paper over again and repeat with the outer set. Roll the points into the center (on the back) and glue or tape together.
Repeat these steps with the five other squares pieces of paper.

Step 5: Stars in Your Eyes

Once you have all your pieces, attach the corners together with tape, glue or staples to create the star shape.

Take your completed star and punch a hole on the top point. Add some string and tie in a loop to hang your star.

Done!
